A space to begin
Sometimes the hardest part is simply beginning.
I’m a UKCP-registered trainee psychotherapist. My approach is person-centred psychotherapy, a deeply relational way of working that supports you in reconnecting with your own sense of direction.
Person-Centred Psychotherapy
-
Person-centred therapy is a powerful approach to healing and growth that puts you at the heart of the therapeutic process. It is based on the belief that each of us has an inner capacity to understand ourselves when met with understanding and acceptance.
The person-centred approach is about being offered a space where you can safely come into deeper contact with your own feelings, needs, and voice. For many people, especially those who’ve felt unseen, judged, or shaped by others’ expectations, this can be a powerful and transformative process.
-
Person-centred therapy isn’t about labels or diagnoses. While some people find diagnostic language helpful, person-centred therapy focuses on your lived experience and not on fitting you into a category.
It’s not a clinical or detached process. You won’t be analysed, given advice, or expected to change in a specific way. There’s no expectation to fit into anyone else’s idea of what healing looks like. Instead, you’ll have the freedom to explore what matters to you.
Person-centred therapy is a space where all of you is welcome, even the parts that feel messy, stuck, or uncertain.
-
Have you found yourself thinking ‘I just need space to talk?’ Person-centred therapy can be that space, free from the pressure to perform, explain, or have the answers. Perhaps you’ve spent a lot of time doubting yourself, feeling disconnected, or unsure how to find your way back to who you are.
People come to this therapy for many reasons, including:
Anxiety, low mood, or overwhelm
Self-doubt and low self-esteem
Feeling numb or disconnected
Life transitions or relationship changes
Loss and grief
Processing past experiences, including trauma
A desire for deeper self-understanding
Simply needing space to think, feel, and be without judgment
This kind of therapy offers a steady space in the midst of it all.
Behind the Work
Before becoming a therapist, I worked in education and supporting survivors of domestic abuse. It was being alongside people facing profound life changes that led me to the power of the therapeutic space.
In 2022, I began training at the Metanoia Institute in Contemporary Person-centred Psychotherapy, and since 2023, I’ve worked for low-cost therapy services across London. I’m now registered as a trainee with the United Kingdom Council for Psychotherapy (UKCP) and am working towards full accreditation in private practice.
The Heart of My Practice
How we work together shapes the therapy just as much as what we talk about.
Person-centred therapy is a way of being that recognises each person as the author of their own meaning. Your experience is at the centre.
This work is about trust, not control, and voice, not silence. I believe healing does not arise from instruction or correction, but from the experience of being deeply seen and understood. From there, the possibility of change is not imposed, it emerges.
